What Inspires Us
We were lucky to spend some time with our client as she set her new space up. Here is a selection of the jewelry she creates that inspired the design and soul of this reno. If you are interested in owning these looks for yourself, visit her online shop!

It's A Wrap!
We are very grateful to have gone on this journey with Mimi Page Studio to bring her vision to life. Gogo is now tucked away on an island on the East Coast where she was immediately filled with beautiful jewelry, bins of materials, and plenty of love. Check out this Airstream's breakdown in the newly released case study.

We're At It Again!
Polish Kings To The Rescue
Gogo has finally reached her time to shine! We have the bonnets and Airbrite out and have began working on the curb side panels. We can already see how well the high gloss black end caps will look next to the chrome-like aluminum.

Interior Skins Go Up
Using white enameled aluminum, we did the traditional vintage Airstream cowlings inside GoGo. We love using iconic details like this in an Airstream that didn't normally have it. With thirteen carefully positioned panels, we now have beautiful fanned centerpieces at each end.

Saving The Planet In Style
We're teaming up with eco-savvy company, Mad Leaf, to re-brand their look and create stylish gear that actually helps the environment. Using recycled bottles and organic materials, they will offer our graphics on clothing that not only looks good but sets an even better example. Thinking About Replacing Your Window & Door Gaskets?
While you have your windows out don't forget to take a look at the window glazing gasket. It's not really black that's mold and mildew that can be hazardous to your health! After you have spruced up the seals, use high-quality Weatherstrip adhesive which makes the difference between a clean, 5 minute job and a huge mess.
Need to clean the metal up as well?
Use a fine grit sanding block. Make sure you run back and forth with the grain of the metal even as you go around the curve of the window.
Note: this is just about the only time you should ever use sand paper on your Airstream!!! This aluminum is extruded and not the same as the alclad sheeting on the exterior of your trailer.

End Cap Refresh
Instead of being completely painted like many Argosy trailers, GoGo only had the upper end caps painted matte black. These areas of the exterior are actually steel, not aluminum, and can't be polished like the rest of the shell. We decided to keep the black look which mimics the jewelry that will be sold inside.
The lights were rotted and falling out, and the surface of the paint had seen better days. The best way for us to get a smooth finish with new paint was to completely strip the old material away. After grinding each end cap down, we masked off the surrounding area and sprayed numerous coats of gloss black paint. Since we won't be polishing these spots we were able to wire up the lights and test out the new wiring.

Replacing The Belly Pan
Once we flipped the frame, this is what we saw...
...making it clear she needed an upgrade here too. After removing the disintegrating metal, tossing the rotted insulation and prepping her frame, we resheeted the bellypan. This update will ensure her base lasts for decades to come.

Some Things Should Be Expected
When it comes to trailer restoration, companies make a big deal about shell-off repairs or utilizing specialty tools. Like a good mechanic shop, however, we should be held to a high standard and have the right equipment and techniques to restore your trailer properly. It should be expected.
Flipping a frame to access every nook & cranny.
This is why off shell restoration is so important. When an inexperienced restorer forces plywood under the shell and pieces the subfloor together, it can result in many unseen problems down the road and this mess of a situation.

Out Nerd Me Logo
It's always fun to see logos being used by clients. Out Nerd Me sells super cool fan art posters on Etsy and has been phasing in the new logo we made on the bottom of each piece. With inspirations like Tetris & Nintendo in mind, we created this mark.

Wrapping Stage One
Since this client already had a trailer ready to go, we got to jump right into laying out the interior and creating design elements for them. The layout is very open, with its look strongly rooted in the Hampton style. Since the jewelry that will be shown her is made of found stones on the beach, we let that be the inspiration behind the colors and textures we will use.

On To The Next One
Our next project up to bat is GoGo, a 1974 Argosy. Her bare interior is being transformed into a Jewelry Store / Studio combo for a talented artisan on the East Coast. Follow along with her process as we prepare her for a Spring debut.
Creation of the Bar Cart
We were stoked when a client from our past popped back into our lives, ready to put us to work. We had helped create a gorgeous little Airstream bar with taps through the shell, and gullwing service window opening and dark hardwood details. The new task was to take those iconic shapes and specific design and replicate them in cart form. Now all the rage, portable bars are •••
